IS THIS WHAT IT'S COMING DOWN TO?

Jack: Great round table debate. In my opinion independents like myself are voting for Obama as a vote against Bush and the last eight years. McCain should forward his anger towards Bush, and at the same time point out the only good thing Bush has done, and that is to have kept us safe for the last eight years. Its difficult , but he has to get that done to win..... Jimmy

I think that's a great point. If you are right, though, what a ridiculous reason to vote for Obama. How does his victory "punish" Bush? I think Bush stands sufficiently rebuked by his record low poll numbers, the general calumny with which he is held in his own party, and that party's nomination of Bush's main nemesis from the 2000 race. What more can a disgruntled independent do, kick sand in Bush's eyes? The nightmare of Obama's presidency, from issues of individual freedom, to judicial appointments stretching 30 years out, to naivete in foreign affairs...it will be many more than Citizen Bush who rue that outcome.
